Building Character

POV: You’re a teen, just trying to figure it all out, and BAM - feelings. All the feelings. How do you deal with them? Where else to explore them while learning about yourself, than in an acting class?

We challenge our actors to understand human behaviour; our complexities allow us to create layered characters and interesting stories. Through the exploration of emotional connection, camera technique, and scene study, find what works for YOU and deliver captivating performances. 

Build confidence and focus while learning the techniques that have helped our actors land lead roles in film and television.

• Emotional Connection: Learn to access emotions through physical exploration. Through breath, body and movement you will understand how to organically and safely embody a character. 
  

• On-Camera Acting & Technique: Learn how to use the camera to your advantage, show relationship, and establish the character’s world. Build your on-camera presence and own the audition space.
  

• Scene Study: Knowing your lines is just the start; understanding the what and why of what you're saying is the goal. Learn to ask the important questions and make bold choices that help add depth, specificity, and nuance to your performances.

Materials will be assigned according to each actor’s level of experience.
